Cooking

Recipe: PRAWN VANNAMEI // Creamy Garlic Prawns
Ingredients:
500g Prawn Vannamei Defrosted, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 garlic cloves minced
1 tbsp garlic
3/4 vegetable broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 parmesan finely grated
2 tbsp parsley finely chopped

Method:

  • In a bowl, season the peeled and deveined prawns with black pepper and salt.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned prawns and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Remove the prawns from the skillet and set them aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the garlic and butter mixture. Stir and cook for an additional minute to create a roux.
  • Gradually pour in the vegetable broth while continuously stirring to avoid lumps. Allow the mixture to thicken.
  • Lower the heat and slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Continue cooking and stirring until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it’s melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with salt and black pepper if needed.
