Cooking

Recipe: PRAWN TAILS
Ingredients:
12 Prawn tails (in shells)
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon chilli flakes (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 lemon (juiced)
Salt and pepper to taste
Wooden skewers (pre-soaked if wooden)

Method:

  • In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, chilli flakes, grated ginger, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  • Prepare the prawn tails by rinsing them and patting them dry with paper towels.
  • Add the prawn tails to the marinade and let them marinate for about 15-20 minutes in the fridge. Make sure the shells are coated well with the marinade.
  • Preheat your grill or pan over medium-high heat.
    Thread the prawn tails onto the wooden skewers, piercing through the tail and the head end of the prawn.
  • Place the prawn skewers on the grill or pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until the prawns turn pink and are cooked through.
  • Baste the prawn skewers with any remaining marinade while cooking to infuse extra flavor.
  • Once cooked, remove the prawn skewers from the heat and transfer them to a serving platter.
  • You can sprinkle some extra chilli flakes and grated ginger on top for added heat and aroma.
  • Serve your Chilli Ginger Prawn Skewers hot, accompanied by a dipping sauce or a side of your choice.
