Recipe: Calamari Strips
Ingredients:
2 cups calamari strips, cleaned and thawed if frozen
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Vegetable oil, for frying
Lemon wedges, for serving
METHOD:
1 .Ensure the calamari strips are clean and patted dry with paper towels.
2. In a shallow bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasoning.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan
Take a handful of calamari strips and toss them in the seasoned flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour.
4. Carefully place the coated calamari strips into the hot oil. Be cautious to not overcrowd the pan; fry in batches if needed.
5. Fry the calamari strips for about 2-3 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcooking, as calamari can become tough.
6. Once fried, use a slotted spoon to remove the fried calamari strips from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
